First Lady Michelle Obama calls Kenya her husband's "home country."
Interesting. It will get the so-called Birthers talking, but I'm skeptical. Oh not just because I am Obama's cosmic twin (as many know) but because I know of the mindset of many American-haters who are black. Many of these refer to themselves as 'African'--and not American--even if the closest they've been to Africa is eating/shopping in LA's Little Ethiopia.
On the other hand, it is turning out that everything Barack Obama has asserted about himself is false, hidden or heinous so who knows?
(Thanks to Pat Dollard)
Not to put too fine a point on it, but could you imagine if Jackie Kennedy had referred to Ireland as JFK's home country?

How odd for Obama to embrace a country that did nothing for him, whose parent from that country did not raise him, and where he did not live for any of his formative years.
We are watching the inner workings of a man compelled by something missing inside him to embrace the land of a father he never knew.

I admit it, I'm a "Birther" if you want to call it that. I see no logical reason to be embarrassed by it or to stop questioning his qualifications/origins.
I am continually reminded of it, because I do work on a contract basis. Often, to be hired, I have to provide a fair amount of documentation to prove I am a legal citizen to my employer. This includes a copy of my driver's license, birth certificate,I-9,and college transcripts (to prove I qualify for the task at hand). None of these things appear to have been required of Obama by US, his employers.
I have to undergo a background check. Many of the people Obama chooses to surround himself would fail this step of the process, yet they are allowed inside the White House. The work I do requires me to sign confidentiality and other agreements, even though what I do for a living is far less sensitive or critical to the well being of a large number of people than what Obama does. Failure to follow through on upholding these agreements could result in my immediate termination. When the President fails to uphold the Constitution, the contract containing the terms of his employment, he doesn't have to sweat it ... he can abuse his power with impunity - who will hold him accountable?
There is something seriously wrong with a system that allows an undocumented individual access to the most powerful job in our country, yet requires temporary contract laborers to produce documents out the ying yang.

I don't think that it's the birthplace that he's hiding. It's the ID of the father. Think about it: he has a lot invested in his African identity and displays a lot of condescension toward "regular" black people. Admitting that he's a "regular" black person would cause him to have a psychotic break.
Some people have theorized that he's hiding the BC because it lists "white" as his race but that makes no sense since it's obvious via the eyeball test that he's part black.
Like a certain talk show host says, don't doubt me. :)

Yes, I agree that could be part of it. But somehow, I think it is more than that.
One thing that has puzzled me is that birthers are considered to be crackpot conspiracy theorists. Can someone please explain why? As I said, we have no disclosure ... none of that much touted transparency on this issue. If you will recall, Bush's college records were fodder for the press ... Obama's are not available.
There are many people I know who are not foaming at the mouth conspiracy theorists, but we would still like a good explanation as to why other candidates were forthcoming with their documentation, yet this one was not. Most of us would also agree that his nationality is not the biggest issue surrounding this administration. That is not to say it is a minor issue at all, but given the current climate it must be treated that way. It's best to just wait until all the information eventually crawls out from hiding, one way or the other.
Truthfully, I think there are a lot of people who still have doubts but are reticent to express them for fear of being shunned. But there is no good way to look at this.
Either his status is questionable or, and I think this is more likely, his records are kind of ugly (paternity issues, poor grades, academic suspension, disciplinary actions, suspicious funding for his education). If he is a legal citizen, however, his coverup is actually more worrisome, since it points to a personality that holds itself above the rest of us and toys with our concerns. A president who likes to play mind games on the general population is not a stable man.
