Tommy Lasorda inducted into Cuban Sports Hall of Fame:
Quote Tommy:
My kinda guy, that Tommy.
Quote Tommy:
I played in Cuba during WinterBall in the '50's as a pitcher. I played for Almendares and Marianao. I saw the government change hands twice.
Gracias por este honor. Mira! Mi sueno es un dia veer Cuba libre. (Thank you for this honor! My dream is to see a free Cuba.)
My kinda guy, that Tommy.
I think Lasorda is a patriot. Good for him standing up to the Castro fan-bois out there *cough-Peter Angelos-cough*.

I'm a congenital Dodger "hater" (born and raised in SF Giants territory and come from the school that says you don't change sports allegiances on a whim), but always liked Tommy Lasorda, and still wish the O'Malleys owned the Dodgers.
After all, to properly regard a team as a proper spawn of the devil, they have to be reasonably good :)
