Thanks for your consistency in blocking my account, Charles--or whoever you are. We'll see who will be the victor in the end.
May the Lord Jesus Christ open your eyes before it's too late.
UPDATE: Folks, Charles is in some kind of trouble, mostly spiritual. For those of you who considered him your friend and who pray, you know what to do.
He was never on our side -- we just had a common enemy. He even called himself a "9/12 Conservative", which means "Not really a conservative but willing to go along for a while", like Jeff Jarvis and Andy Sullivan and a pile of others.
Fuggedaboudit. He doesn't matter anymore anyways (I stopped reading years ago.)

Seriously? Lizard King banned Baldilocks? One of the best commenters on the net? Always thoughtful & fair. Charles, you suck.
Posted by: twitter.com/dibutler | September 20, 2009 at 11:47 PM
But hey, he hasn't delisted your blog...yet. :-)
I discovered quite a while ago that Charles would delete comments and ban the commenters for simply disagreeing (even civilly and innocuously) with Charles. Haven't checked in a quite a while to see if my account there still works, as I have better things to do than slog through hundreds of rah-rah buttkissings devoid of any real exploration of issues. Wouldn't surprise me if it didn't, but don't really care. He done jumped the shark quite a while back.

I've been blocked, too. It was a couple of months ago because I agreed with a commenter who, very respectfully, told CJ that LGF seemed to be a bit too rabid in it's assessment on Tea Party movement and Creationism.
Thank you for your prayer for Charles. He seems to be in trouble.
Posted by: Polly | September 21, 2009 at 10:35 AM
Don't take it personally. He's going back where he came from, apparently.
I stopped reading when every other thread seemed to be an attack on Creationism. I'm not a Creationist, but his tirade was getting old and a little weird.
I'd be curious to know whether his traffic has dropped or just switched composition.

Have been and will do.

I self banned after CJ supported Van Jones. Had planned to do it after one of his more scurrilous attacks against Jindal, but was hoping that he would knock it off with that stuff. ID does not impact my life, so I really pay it no mind when backing politicians who DO share my views on major impact political matters. He seems like a man obsessed, but I think all the nauseating flattery from him sharming ladies may make him a bit full of himself.
He's really extraordinarily intolerant these days, but if Baldilocks suggests we pray for the man, I will do just that...I suspect you have some reason for this and I'll trust you

I stopped reading LGF a while back, basically because of too many inane commenters.
I am neither a Creationist nor a churchgoer, but I do not see the point of LGF's harping on Creationism. There are more important things to deal with. I have no problem in forming a political alliance with a Creationist, even though I do not agree with Creationism.
Political alliances never involve 100% agreement. I believe former NYC mayor Ed Koch said, "If you agree with most of what I stand for, you should vote for me. If you agree with ALL I stand for, you should have your head examined." In wanting 100 % agreement, LGF is not exhibiting good sense.
I agree that LGF went off the deep end re Van Jones.

Most Christians couldn't give two shizams about the Creationist/Evolution "debate."
Posted by: baldilocks | September 21, 2009 at 04:13 PM
I got banned because I disagreed with his claim that an image of Obama dressed up as a witch doctor is inexcusable racism.
Racial equality means exactly that. It doesn't mean that certain people are shielded from satirization because they belong to a particular ethnic or racial group. Obama is the president of the United States and he's trying to wreck our health care system, hence his depiction as a witch doctor. Had Hillary been elected the same image would have been just as applicable because the issue is the policy, not the race of the person behind it. Apparently this point was something CJ could not bear to contemplate and so he banned me.
Opening a forum for discussion and then banning those who dare to disagree is the kind of thing that someone does when they are so afraid of being wrong that they cannot deal with the truth once it has been denied. They can't change their mind once they have taken a position, however erroneous it may be. But because that position is wrong, they cannot actually defend it without resorting to sophistry or silencing those who challenge its validity. Hence what we find on LGF today.
Someone who is intellectually honest, who seeks to know and live with the truth, and who is secure in their convictions does not feel the need to silence those who disagree with them. This kind of person is able to defend their positions because they are based on an honest appraisal of reality. More importantly, they are able to recognize when they are in error and accept an unwelcome truth instead of persisting down a path of falsehood to the bitter end.
I don't know what has happened to CJ, but I hope that he gets the help he needs because I think he is in a very bad place right now.

All the old posters from the heyday of LGF are banned, blocked, or have left of their own accord. LGF is like an abandoned part of town where all the happy people have left, and the low, mean, bitter people have moved in and trashed the lovely gardens and fountains. Shit like that.

I suppose it was inevitable, Juliette, but sad all the same.

Baldi, don't sweat it.
LGF sucks and CJ is a paranoid nut-job.
I got banned there about a year ago.
Posted by: thebronze | September 21, 2009 at 08:14 PM
I got banned late last night. Frankly - I was glad. What on earth was I doing, arguing with foul-mouthed, disgusting pack animals who knew literally nothing about me but who were calling me the most vile names?
You are right, though. Something is very wrong with Charles. I am not religious - but - in my own way of spirituality, I will pray that he comes to his senses.
Posted by: Peg | September 21, 2009 at 08:27 PM
Sure took you guys long enough. CJ banned me over 7 years ago. He pays the light bill, so it's his switch. I just don't go to his house to visit anymore, like other inhospitable places. Those LG lizards breathe in unison, and sniff each other's farts. Sycophancy is ugly when you see it up close. Lizards, obamatrons, liberals are all mentally disordered, easily led, and cultish. LGF thinks it has Truth, thinks it can blog God out of existence. Let God Free, CJ. Anti-creationism is an still -ism.

It took me a long time to understand that there are people so rigid that they can't tolerate even questions, much less dissent.
The problem is that their entire world is built on a structure of lies. If you question even one of their assumptions, values, pronouncements, or opinions, you will create a vibration that will cause the entire unsteady structure to collapse.
We're talking genuine psychological survival issues here. Causing people like that to question themselves could kill them, in their own minds. So they ban you instead. You threaten their very existence.
Imagine being so fragile...

I just checked and I too have been banned, I did notice he has been de-listed at MM and HotAir as well.
Posted by: www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=552908838 | September 22, 2009 at 03:00 AM
He posted a Media Matters smear of Limbaugh the other day. He's also become very credulous of the MSM. Of all people, he should know not to trust that garbage. Limbaugh was clearly being sarcastic about the "segregated busses". He was obviously being sarcastic throughout the segment - I heard it live.
Anyway, I never considered LGF to be a "conservative blog", but now he just reflexively contradicts just about anything a conservative or Christian says.
The habit of banning people for little reason is troubling too. Next to our President, he may have the worst control issues of anyone I'm aware of.
Posted by: forest | September 22, 2009 at 06:50 AM
As one of the chief targets of Johnson's ongoing smear campaign, I applaud your magnanimous and charitable response.
Big fan of your work...

Robert,
I honestly didn't know what to think a while back when this business started with Vlaams Belang etc. I pretty much stayed out of it, but now I know it was an unhinged smear job on you.
Now I know.
Posted by: forest | September 22, 2009 at 08:04 AM
Sad, but in the end, his blog and his biz. Best of luck to him, and may his personal troubles diminish.
And it does keep some of the mangier members of the blogosphere in a separate corral, rather than running loose all the time.
Posted by: Tully | September 22, 2009 at 08:28 AM
This is kind of off topic, but since the consensus is that CJ has become unopen to an occasional healthy questioning of his own beliefs, my comment is somewhat in that vein.
Last night I saw an interview on Fox, in which Sean Hannity was asking some fish expert why the Delta smelt should be given priority over the needs of southern California farmers. The interviewee kept trying to say something about the effect of the water usage on the fishing industry further up the coast. I didn't feel like Hannity really gave him a fair shake or allowed him to present information that might put a little bit of a different light on the story. Does anybody know if there is actually a conflict of business (not government) interests here? I have been buying into the idea that environmentalists are to blame for this, but am wondering if there is more substance to it than that.
Posted by: Kwongdzu | September 22, 2009 at 10:23 AM
At best, Kwondzu, the fish expert was admitting that the smelt was being used as an "any excuse to accomplish the goal" item rather than having any real concern for the smelt.
Of course, I don't expect any balance on ANY of the talking-head shows, so I don't watch them.

Welcome... but I was banned weeks ago for daring to criticize Van Jones. so there!
Posted by: DANEgerus | September 22, 2009 at 05:57 PM
I was banned last year for pointing out that, well Charles, now that you mention it, I'm a doctor and a biologist so I don't really go to LGF to have you teach me evolution.
He is either mentally ill or he has sold the site with the condition that he abide by a NDA about the sale.
BTW I am and I will. Thank you.
Posted by: Daybrother | September 22, 2009 at 09:11 PM
You're a beautiful person for praying for him, Baldilocks. I was banned today for basically saying he was wrong for banning you and Afrocity and I was out of there. His response, in entirety: "Racist flounce!" Yeah, he's lost it.
Posted by: www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000200672776 | September 23, 2009 at 01:31 AM
Good for you, Juliette. I stopped reading LGF regularly a couple of years ago when he discovered Evolution, and started baiting Christians, like a 12-year-old boy who's heard about sex and enjoys shocking adults with sexual references. I stopped reading LGF altogether when Johnson attacked European anti-immigration parties as racist (cultural self-defense is not racism) and Christian Republican politicians for no reason that I could see.
I was raised in no church and am no more a Christian than I am a Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, or Zoroastrian, so I won't pray for him.

good idea. He is getting very bitter lately.
I'll remember him in my prayers.

This site has become worthless. Victor Davis Hanson is the next to go under the Lizard bus as he has been issued a stern warning by CJ: "....Thanks, Victor. But please follow this up, and take a look around at who you’re sharing web space with."
They are on the edge now with the murdered census worker, ready to take another dive. CJs butt-sniffing minions - most of whom were around when he brilliantly exposed Memogate - are truly frightening. You are in lock-step or you are banned for life. And what the hell is it with his Keith Jarret fettish?
