Losers find it almost impossible to act like winners even when they win. Sad.

Isn't that so true? Gloating is such an ugly way to handle victory.

Gloating would be okay. But I've seen name-calling and all-around insanity for those of us who admit to not toeing the mark. Not just toward black conservatives but toward almost all who say they voted for McCain.

Mean spirited, yup. You just wanna shake them and say, "Move on, already!"
Speaking of being stuck in a rut, did you see the
Onion video about Obamaniacs who just can't move on? For a satire, it's right on.

They are mental adolescents, and now they will be significantly running the country for two years.
Ever seen a house with four teenagers and no adults? That's America in two years.

I think liberalism attracts a certain kind of narcissistic type for whom winning and controlling are the goal. If their lame arguments won't sway you, they'll go for humiliation and shame.
I could feel the hate rolling off that group when they lost the White House eight years ago and they were determined to undermine Bush in any way as consolation.

I'm not sure which one is worse -- the non-stop gloating from one side or the non-stop wake on the other.
Makes me wanna stand in the aisle and toss bricks at both of 'em.....
Posted by: Michael King | November 07, 2008 at 09:56 AM
Michael - the wake will eventually end. The gloating, however? THAT will go on for at least the next year, unless Obama does something excrutiatingly stupid. They kept the 2 Minute Hate going against Bush for 8 years - they won't let go of such feelings quickly.

I've been seeing the same thing at my site, Juliette.
It's really weird that they feel the need to do this. I felt no such impulse in 2000, or 2004.

LMAO...that's the funniest thing I've heard all day...and the truest.

McCain's silence on the lies told about Sarah (anonymous smears are lies. People who have facts go on record, like NSC Steve Biegun) make me fear this is his brunt offering to Democrats to get back in their good graces in the Senate.
I swear, I'm going to travel to AZ and work to have him kicked out of the Senate for this dishonorable behavior.

whoops...the above posted on wrong thread.

The 2 pillars of the authoritarian mindset, victim hood and rage, are still alive and well on this blog. It as if the right wingers in the US have not one shred of self awareness. Did anyone not see the unprecedented amount of mean spirited booing of Obama at McCain's concession speech? Can anyone remember ever seeing this at Dem concessions? It was disgusting. Yet as it was typical example of the authoritarian behavior we have seen these last 8 years no one was all that surprised. The non stop outrageous gloating from republicans like Bush, Gingrich, Limbaugh, DeLay, Rumsfeld, Malkin, etc , etc for the last 8 years has pretty much been the norm. This lack of self awareness is why you get:
-a republican vice presidential candidates with ties to a secessionist movement accusing her Democratic opponent of being un-patriotic.
-A late middle aged Black conservative blogger who despite having been informed numerous times that some people on her blog roll are linked to White Power websites refuses to take responsibility for her de-facto promotion of these sites. Yet she writes a long post about how Obama, despite his disavowals, associates with "terrorists".
- Joe the liar, who like many luminaries of modern day conservatism have "difficulty" reconciling their public statements on morality and government with their own personal behavior.
-and who can forget who and how the term "reality based community" was coined as term of derision by people in the Bush White house.
The overwhelming majority of people around the world not only respect this country again they actually admire the US (and yes that matters). While gloating is just plain tacky it is also ludicrous that right wingers in this country, who have absolutely zero moral standing on this point, are whining and sniveling about what they percieve are mean words.

me, you are such an idiot, it's pathetic. Go practice your political onanism in private.
Posted by: Casey | November 10, 2008 at 11:51 AM
I was gonna call it projection, but "political onanism" is exquisitely more accurate.
Posted by: Tully | November 10, 2008 at 07:48 PM
And, I would add, definitively symptomatic of what the post was about in the first place. QED, and ipse dixit!
Posted by: Tully | November 10, 2008 at 07:51 PM
Well, one does try... :)
Posted by: Casey | November 10, 2008 at 11:24 PM
Wow - "me" totally nailed it. That, followed by the irony of someone calling the slam political onanism in the middle of a self-congratulatory circle-jerk, was priceless.

Amazing, Casey. They truly just can't help themselves! Chock-full of irony, that.

Obama and the left wing illuminati and all the public are in a honeymoon stage...just wait until things don't go his way and he is not perfect and he will soon be as hated as W.
Posted by: mnotaro | November 13, 2008 at 08:10 AM
I agree with you, it may be confetti and cameras now, but wait until the mainstream media illuminati have no choice but to attack you when you step into the position.
