UPDATE: The reason why from TIME managing editor Rick Stengel: "We're experts in what we do." The interviewer, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, doesn't even ask about the World War II imagery or the sacredness of Iwo Jima. "Experts" indeed.
Oh, man. But I guess I'm no longer surprised...

=Sigh= I remember when Time used to be a good news magazine. I'm not exactly sure when it morphed into a wholly-owned subsidiary of the DNC, but my last straw came in the mid-'90s, when one of the subscription weenies asked me why I wasn't renewing. To encourage me to renew, she said something to the effect of "well, we try our best to let you know all the great things that the Clinton administration is doing for you". I said thanks, you've just confirmed my suspicions, and yes, the subscription stays cancelled. Now it looks like they're finally admitting their bias publicly. And the disrespect to the memory of Iwo Jima is appalling.
