If two people--one who's generally obnoxious and another who's an exploiter of black people--tell the truth, will anyone give a rat's backside?
The billionaire founder of Black Entertainment Television says Barack Obama would not be a leading presidential candidate if he were white and that the Illinois senator's campaign has "a hair-trigger on anything racial."The Charlotte Observer reported on its Web site Monday that Bob Johnson, one of Hillary Rodham Clinton's top black supporters, was commenting on remarks previously made by Geraldine Ferraro, another Clinton supporter.
"What I believe Geraldine Ferraro meant is that if you take a freshman senator from Illinois called 'Jerry Smith' and he says I'm going to run for president, would he start off with 90 percent of the black vote?" Johnson said. "And the answer is, probably not.

Bush is a poor leader. It is his fault and his fault only that the American public doesn't understand what is at stake. He assumed because he said it, the population would fall in line.
All good president has to establish communication channels and trust of the American public before we can be led to war. The right radio media did a better job of supporting Iraq involvement in dealing with terrorists. Across the board, the right radio media mostly ignored Afghanistan. They mostly ignore northern Africa. Bush ignores them as well, IN THE MEDIA.
Because he failed to communicate, his administration failed to communicate and the U.S. population is less educated about the situation.
It is Bush's fault, like it or not.

Dang...
Wrong post.

It is Bush's fault, like it or not.
I think that is patently absurd, DarkStar. Now the population has to be spoon fed before they can comprehend basic world affairs? After some fools use planes as bombs to attack our country?
Okay, man. Keep right on peddling that B.S.
And this newfound concern for Afghanistan is heartwarming -- but, if you gave a damn about the Taliban presence in that nation before the invasion you would be the rare person on the left, indeed. And I don't believe you really give a damn now.
Neither does BHO.
And yes, DarkStar, we should have just followed Booker T.'s lead, instead allowing W.E.B. to lead our intellectuals (and us) astray while he traipsed after all manner of European communists and socialists.
Booker T. built something private, and lasting. Something substantive.
W.E.B.????

Hey RattlerGator, not to mention how W.E.B helped ruin the African countries that drank his koolaid, i.e. Ghana.
But doncha know, according to Papa Obama's dream of eradicating capitalism, that ideology is weak tea compared to the strong tea of scientific socialism. Now Obambi Jr wants to pick up daddy's mantle and finish the project on a much larger scale -- on the US of A instead of Kenya. Paah!

Baldi, IOW, we're no where close to MLK's dream. A black can say that a white Obama is being quixotic, but a white person can't say the exact same thing about the same white Obama. The hypocrisy of liberal PC.

I'll answer this in the appropriate post, but DuBois helped create the NAACP, which has had some important victories for this country, even if it's present form is obnoxious.
Oh, and political representation, as it currently stands, is substantial, even if you find it disagreeable. You can't change history even if you don't like it. Unless you are going to say the court cases which secured Blacks the rights this country was founded upon, is not lasting.
Is that what you wish to say?
Finally, demonstrate to me, if you will, how business and land ownership doesn't require the guarantee of the rule of law for land ownership and business creation to mean anything. After all, people rightly said that the Kelo ruling is an assault on property rights and property rights is something that helps build a stable country.

well, I'm just dadgummed confused now. I dont' know if I'm a racist or not. I used to think I wasn't, but... jeez, maybe I am.

Message to Bob Johnson: How embarrassing? Would the world have been "blessed with BET" if the FCC hadn't specifically wanted you, a black man, to have titular control of a small band of the airwaves and John Malone hadn't plucked you to have cable channel?
