I had to go out—via the bus—after posting that last one, but before I did, I heard this from Mike Huckabee:
[W]hat we need to do is to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards. Is there something about the Constitution that isn’t up to God’s standards and/or does it contain a mandate to change God’s standards?
Yes I know that the governor was talking about circumventing the Constitution in order to ban same-sex marriage and abortion--two issues that I do not advocate either. But this rhetoric smacks too much of the unconstrained vision (thanks, Dr. Sowell)--a way of viewing the world in which any means are allowable to reach a certain goal. "Don't like the rules of the Constitution? Just change them, so we can get rid of that nasty same-sex marriage and abortion."
Any means necessary, indeed.
Huckabee’s assertion reminds me of something equally alarming that Barack Obama said in October:
I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth.A kingdom. Here on Earth. And that kingdom would belong to whom exactly? Jesus Christ already said that the Kingdom of God is not an earthly one and that governmental matters were just that and are to be differentiated from metaphysical matters (“Render unto Caesar…”).
Which Christians are being pandered to by these politicians? These two are frightening.
Oh and congratulations to Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for his win in the Michigan GOP primaries. And congratulations to Senator Hillary Clinton for her hard fought symbolic victory in that state’s Democrat primary over “uncommitted” (long story).
Jim Treacher says that these primaries have several things in common with the Special Olympics. I'll let the reader decide what those things might be.

Obama, I'll bet, didn't mean "Kingdom" so much as he meant "Lifeforce-sucking Socialist Bureaucracy." Just my hunch.
