Okay. It’s break time; not “give-up” time, but break time. As many other impromptu pundits have seen fit to do, I’m going to let my blogging go for a bit. The simple facts are this:
• I need to get out and make a real living, as no one is hitting my tip jar...and why would they?
• There are dreams that I’ve long had—which indeed involve writing, but don’t involve blog-writing--that I am going to follow before I become too old to do so.
• So many events, singular and on-going, have led me to feel that my expressed opinions are useless—and that feeling has spilled over onto the quality of my blogging. Additionally, I know that there are many new trends and technologies which I could add to the site, but…I don’t want to. Or rather, simply put: I’m just not feelin’ it.
I know that, at some point I will “feel it” again. Oh not just for the occasional post which I may even put up next week, but the scheduled, sustained and tenacious type of posting which I used to practice a couple of years ago. I can’t do that now; it’s almost as if it’s become an unpleasant chore.
This site will be here for the foreseeable future and, as I said, an unforeseen subject/event may spur me toward posting even tomorrow, but as for now, I’m outtahere.
See you around.
Good wishes from here... you'll be missed.

Juliette,
Rest easy, work hard, and come back soon. I will certainly miss you.

Baldi, we'll miss you. But sometimes, Real Life calls us.
Prosperity and health to you and yours!

Fare thee well, Baldi --
Seems as though everytime I latch onto some new interesting blogger, they "retire" after a month or so of perusal.
This is going to be bad for my messianic complex.
Godspeed and we wish you success in all things "real world" --
WM

Good luck, Juliette. I look forward to your return, and wish you good fortune in your endeavors while you're away.

Sorry to hear this! Good luck! I hope to see you back here someday.

I figured something like that was going on. It felt like you were forcing it.
I'm sure if you treat the blog as something to do in your spare time, when you find something interesting to talk about, you'll enjoy it more.

See you around? Where? If you're not blogging, then I won't see you. You can't stop! I'll start hitting the tip jar, I promise!!
How can you be so selfish and think of your own well being ahead of my reading enjoyment?
Oh, all right. I'll just have to cope.
Enjoy your break and good like with your other pursuits. If you're in D.C., let me know and I'll buy you a cup of coffee (or tea), then your statement about "see you around" won't be false. :)

Bad for us...Good for you. Enjoy your time...but you'll always have this outlet if you need it.

Be kind and toss a note now and then to let us know you're OK. Maybe I'll sneak by and TP the blog while you're out....

Be sure when you come back you make a big splash so those of us lulled to sleep in your absence know when to wake up.

That is simply not the case, though I can understand your feeling. You'll be missed, and I will anticipate your catching the bug again.
Be well, Juliette.

Good traveling to you!!! :(

Good luck Juliette,
I've been "trying" to write a book for about 5 years now. It's painfully clear to me that I have no imagination--but what's new, right?
If you need to find a place to hide out for a while, Polo is a pretty nice hideaway!

Skot! Where's Polo?
Thanks to all for the "send off."
Tully: You can "TP" (Tully Post) the place at any time. You still have an account here.

Ma'am, I have read your for years now. Why?
1. You're intelligent.
2. You're pushing the world in a good, vice bad, direction.
3. You're funny.
4. You're serious..and hold all and sundry to the proverbial fire.
5. You HAVE laced up a pair of boots for your country.
I could write a tome, but suffice to say, I really think you are one of the "good guys" ("guys" now being a gender non-specific).
Thank you for your service, in uniform and out. You are a patriot in the best sense of that word.
Write...I am confident it will be very, very good.
BTW, I suspect you've had a much greater impact than you believe.
Semper Fidelis,
LtCol William Curtis USMC (Ret)
P.S. If you get writer's block and can't think of anything to do...drive down to Santa Cruz and run those truly awful people out of the "university." Historical note: That campus use to be Fort Ord, home of the 7th Infantry Division.

Well, I'm keepin' ya in my Google Reader and will wait with anticipation! I know how you feel though! Especially about -
• There are dreams that I’ve long had—which indeed involve writing, but don’t involve blog-writing--that I am going to follow before I become too old to do so.

May all your dreams come true.
Like many others, I'm sure, I was directed here by Dr e.
Your blog will be an adventure of exploration for us late comers.
