Remember Norman Hsu, the fellow who seemed to have his fingers in a great deal of Democrat campaign-finance pies and who turned out to be a fugitive from the California justice system?
It seemed as though Mr. Hsu might have had a legitimate misunderstanding with Cali authorities, who claim that he had promised to surrender himself to serve three years in prison following his 1992 conviction for grand theft. Hsu said that he didn't realize that he was supposed to surrender and since he had long been out in the open--and, since 2004, prominently in the public eye--the idea that he misunderstood his obligations seemed plausible. With the discovery of the warrant for his arrest, Hsu turned himself in on September 1st at the San Mateo County Courthouse and posted bail(!)
Well there's no chance of pleading ignorance now for Mr. Hsu.
California businessman Norman Hsu, a former New York apparel executive and major contributor to Democratic candidates and causes, failed to appear for a bail reduction hearing Wednesday, leading to speculation that he again is a fugitive from the law [again], FOX News has learned.Lovely. I sure do love my home state legal eagles.Hsu's attorneys say they do not know his whereabouts, and that their client did not surrender his passport.
