If the president wasn't going to listen to me about his choice for press secretary, picking the classy and deceptively easy-going (it seems to me) Tony Snow is the next best thing. And, after facing down the big C, the White House press corps should be a piece of cake for him.
Additionally, I don't think that we'll be seeing a vicious razzing of Snow by the likes of Michael Wolff. People like Wolff only pick on perceived weaker beings.
I agree--Snow was a good pick (better than Brooks imo). He is also a good political choice too, as Snow has criticized Bush in the past, which may give him more legitimacy with the press. But, I wouldn't count on Michael Wolff settling down.

Frankly, I think El Prez should offer Ari Fleischer twice the pay, and bring him back. Maybe Tony won't disappoint. Maybe.

Snow is a very interesting choice to me. Although that is an incredibly hard job, it's really a few steps back for Tony in his career. Press Secretary is where confident young whelps cut their teeth, enure their hides to criticism, and move on to K Street.
I would submit T.S. will be the most sophisticated press secretary ever. Unshakeable. Humorous. I can't believe he's willing to submit himself to it! But it will be cool to watch. I wish him all the best.

Nancy Grace was my choice. She wouldn't take shit from Helen Thomas
