Comments must now be approved--a permanent policy, thanks to Bill O's insistence upon posting here after being banned for insisting on doing something that I asked him not to do. Several times, I've stated the terms for his comment privileges to be reinstated, but instead of meeting those terms, he'd rather just get a new IP number and merely start commenting using his sardonic and condescending manner. I don't try to understand the mindset that would cause someone to behave in the manner that Bill O. has; I merely run this blog as I deem best and until he apologizes, I think it's best that Bill O. find somewhere else to contribute his opinions.
So don't be alarmed if your comments don't appeared right away.
Once I get tired of approving every single comment, Typekey will be initiated here.
UPDATE: After checking my control panel, I found that I have banned Bill at least seven times. Call me crazy, however, but I am still hopeful.
Bill, in case you didn't see my addition to one of your latest comments, go here to find out how to get back in. I just want to be sure that you know what to do. Sarcasm and condescension directed at me aren't criteria for getting you banned, but I do have standards. I just want to be sure that you know (and everyone else knows) what they are.
You were more than kind, Baldi, you were generous and patient. And, really sweet about it.
Which reminds me, I miss your mom commenting. How's she doing? Her comments were a real treat to read. Will you let her know we miss her? (I know I'm not the only one, youse all.)

Seems to me that weblogs and webchat are going down the same route as USENET.

You have been more than patient and kind, dear hostess. Your blog, your rules, and if he refuses to follow the basic norms of civilized behavior for guests...
Well, let's just say that you have more patience than I do. Opposing opinions are great. (How else can you learn anything?) Intentional aggressive gate-crashing and asininity calls for eviction.

It's your blog. I feel privileged to be here; impolite guests are bad for everyone.

Bill O preens about being a high arbiter of the facts, except for the fact that his sour, mocking demeanor is not welcome here. Apparently, he hasn't gotten the hint yet, so i understand your need to go beyond just ignoring his schoolboy petulance, as I tend to do.

torchy: I can handle the demeanor; I only ask one thing of him.
teal marie: my mom is fine (thanks for asking). She no longer has a computer readily available, however. She works for a Big Media corporation (take that how you will).
At home, her computer needs maintenance. I'm almost ready to fly out there and fix it myself, as I suspect that it's something I could take care of.

This must be a pain in the butt for you.
