Shifty One

It seems every blogger comes to this point and I was fortunate that I didn't reach it for over two years, but now, here I am.

Since one of my commenters has a shifting IP address and resists banning, I am forced to use Typepad's comment approval system. I didn't want to use any of the protective devices that Typepad has recently implemented, because I value the free flow of conversation and, frankly, I don't feel like reading everyone's comments. However, someone always has to drop a turd in the punchbowl.

So when your comments don't appear automatically, it's because I'm asleep or gone or busy. Blame Bill O.

UPDATE: Simple question, not unrelated:

Why is it when you’re standing there handing out “Dumba** of the Month” awards someone’s always trying to cut in line?

I've taken to editing their comments. Make them look foolish. I only do it if they are over the top such as using profanity or make ludicrous statements. Seems to work.

I do that too, but this person posts a lot and doesn't seem to understand the concept of "my property, my rules."

Some people have nothing better to do. There's a certain type of OCD troll for whom you can't engage any of their arguments, because it just means participating in their neuroses, & they will counter ANYTHING you say. I just go off the wall, it drives them nuts

Liberals have very special rules when it comes to property. What's their's is their's and what is yours is their's.

I wouldn't just walk on to someone's property and act like it's my own. It's called respect. There are some folks who didn't get that lesson from their mom when they were growing up.
