Pajamas Media has morphed into Open Source Media. The new portal features seventy bloggers (including yours truly).
The keynote speaker at today's New York opening was one Judith Miller, late of the New York Times.
LaShawn blogs a few of the panels and poses with Stephen Green, who's a little distracted.
Alexandra von Maltzan is fortunate enough to get a photo of the OSM bigwigs. (Heh.)
The Instapundit is combining work with play, making Glenn a tired boy.
The estimable Richard Fernandez is among this number.
And it seems that carnage and mayhem just seem to attract that Protein Wisdom guy.
UPDATE: An outsider looks in.
UPDATE: In relation to the link immediately above, Charles and Roger invited Ann Althouse to be a part of (the former) Pajamas Media. She declined because it wasn't worth her while. Fair enough. That said, however, she seems intent on talking down the venture for whatever reason, in spite of the fact that her main hits-benefactor is a part of the new OSM.
It's as much a mystery to me as it is to any other on the outside looking in. I understand the criticism, but not the vitriol.
UPDATE: The lovely Pamela of Atlas Shrugs is in the house, representing for the Cotillion.
If it isn't newsworthy, why is Ann Althouse blogging about it? Are we sure it isn't faux sour grapes? Jeff totally spoofed me.

Everyone is reporting in jolly high spirits.
Is OSM meant to be pronounced awesome for short? Ossum. Works for me.

As someone who wants Pajamas to succeed, I'm having trouble getting into it. Isn't it basically a blog? Why does hardly anything catch my interest when I go there? All the links on the left bar are worthless to me. I don't want to go reload another page to find content, especially with no teaser. I really think you need to find away to put tempting content right there in your face, like Drudge does. I suggest packing the left columns with Drudge-style teasers that connect to your exclusive blog content. Keep a main feature in the center column but shorten it by adding a "click to read more" expansion button at the bottom so that I can see at least four or five hot topics and/or developing stories at a glance. Look at what Wonkette does -- she presents a buffet of topics with links and stories that you can expand if you're interested. Pajamas really needs to present things in an attractive and accessible way. It needs to happen fast. Clicks are going to fade away fast after the novelty wears off.
Best of luck.
