A few months ago, some haughty Wizbang commenter said that is was "an embarassment to Conservatives" to form and belong to an informal blog association like the Conservative Brotherhood (everyone there is black and conservative).
Following that logic, is it sexist to form and belong to the all-female Cotillion?
Just asking.
It's Cha Cha Chauvinist. Buncha Fox Trotskyites, the lot of you.

Juliette,
Any association by conservative blacks, all female, all former military, or CA blogs would have someone's nose out of joint. Do you not meet all the above! It is what you say and not what group. I read Michelle Malkin and she is
conservative but not part of any group.
Keep up good work! What age is Wizbang?

Nah, groups of people with similar tastes in everything or anything always come together. There is nothing at all wrong with this IMHO.
Well, at least as long as the groups are not purposely trying to discriminate against those not allowed membership due to their not being of the same gender, race, religion, political affiliation, or whatever other criteria the group was founded on.
It's a tough call when people are excluded for reasons of race, sex, religion, political views, etc. It becomes more personal at that level, and then you always have the cry babies that scream racism, or discrimination if they aren't allowed to join.
Boyscouts.. it's for boys. Nothing wrong with it at all. Same with girl scouts, or all female gyms, or men's clubs. In themselves, they are not discriminatory. They only become discrimination vehicles, when their message or creed reflect discriminatory or racist views (KKK, and their ilk).
Here's a thought, and it may sound bad, but I don't mean it in the way it may sound.
Is the Miss Black USA Pagent racist, in that it only allows African American women competitors? And if not, then what would happen if there was a Miss White USA pagent?
Anyways, that was just a rhetorical question, we all know what would happen :p
I guess the real question is why? What's the difference between the two pagents or awards?

Yeah, but who cares?
I'm a middle-aged white American guy. I belong to the biggest, most stereotyped grouping on the planet and I automatically receive privelages that I'm not even aware of most of the time.
Or...I don't WANT to hang out with my wife and her girlfriends, 'k?

What a bunch of PC crap. Most likely said commenter simply has his panties in a twist because there's an association out there he can't join. Boo hoo. Why not just call the ACLU and sue for discrimination. Whiny twit.
Sorry, it's an absurd subject that I refuse to take seriously.

Black conservatives - now there is an oppressed group. ;)

"Most likely said commenter simply has his panties in a twist because there's an association out there he can't join"
Evidently we need a Cotillion of Panty Twisters and a monthly Carnival of Knotted Panties

Don: that would be the longest post ever. (And that's just my own list of grievances.) LOL

It's okay to have an association of black conservatives as long as I can join.
It's alright to have a conservative women's Cotillion as long as one of us (other than me) has a sex-change operation.
Why's everyone looking at me funny? How come no one laughs at my jokes?
