Well, Donovan McNabb won’t have the chance to thumb a Super Bowl victory in Rush Limbaugh’s nose this year. But he, nor his team, have anything to be ashamed of in 2005. However, a win, one point or more is still a win and the better team won. At least the Eagles didn’t get beat down in their loss.
But, as it happens, a team called the Patriots have won the Super Bowl championship yet again.
Nothing like those symbolic victories.
Congratulation, Patriots fans and to all of us.

I believe you have misunderstood Limbaugh's comments regarding McNabb. In fact, his comments were about Press coverage about the performance of the Eagles and McNabb at that time.
Anyway, I like your site--I especially like the "Articles I Like" section.

stu: thank you. :-)
Stonewall: I haven't been clear about what I understood about Mr. Limbaugh's comments, so I have to say that you are correct.
However, trying to understand the mindset of a professional athlete, I suspect that Mr. McNabb would take the comments as a challenge, regardless of whether Mr. Limbaugh was criticizing Mr. McNabb's play or the press coverage of same.
A competitive person would strive to prove that he wasn't overrated and strive to live up to his press. And had the Eagles been victorious, Mr. Mcnabb would have, indeed had Mr. Limbaugh to thank for it, were the former driven by those comments.
And, yes, a little vindictiveness would be present too.
