I’ll be away from the computer (and the TV) most of the day, but Allah says that CBS will be putting out a press release this morning. If you see it, tell me what you think about it here. Post a link if you have it.

I'll definitely keep an eye on tonights edition of 60 Minutes II whose lead story will be about: "Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin, who's been called a religious fanatic and a three-star bigot, finally tells his story to Correspondent David Martin."
The NYT published a White House response to a recent DNC Video: Fortunate Son ,that used portions of Dan Rathers 60 Minute II story, in a piece Memos on Bush Are Fake but Accurate, Typist Says(reg required) and I quote: "The video the Democrats released today is as creative and accurate as the memos they gave CBS". BWAHAHAHA

It's 18:22 on the east coast and there is still no announcement.
Their own experts are turning on them too. They're on other outlets discussing "problems" they noted originally. Looks like some CYA just in case CBS tries to throw them to the baying pack.
It's time to throw Dan and his producer under the bus if CBS is going to retain any credibility.

I don't know about Tv, but I do know that every newspaper in the country has at least one person who understood from the typography discussion that these memos had to be forgeries. Even the LA Times. So Rather knows now that even the liberal press is eyeballing him. I don't think he was expecting this. He expected deaf, dumb and blind support. There's no plan B. He's had a whole week to think of a plan B, but he wasted it stonewalling.
Maybe I should take up knitting.

CBS still denies everything. What did they know and when did they know it?

Totally off topic, but worth sharing.

Dang, didn't get back to Dredge, er Drudge in time teal. This story has me run ragged, phew. So Burkett is the CBS expert? It just sinks deeper and deeper into the toilet bowl and I thought it was only a fart in a whirlwind ;-)

torchy, Sorry I mistated! I got Lt Col Burkett mixed up with Lt Gov Barnes! One was an expert (supposedly) and one is the supposed source. And I'm silly.

silly Miss teal- So Barnes may have finessed Burkett into "producing" the documents? Or is Barnes just the go-to guy for the "special treatment" of Bushs TANG enlistment, or both? I'm feeling slapped silly trying to untangle this web of deceit. Who is the puppetmaster and who is the puppet? It'd suit me fine if Rather was the puppet and the DNC/Kerry had their hand up his ass XD
